What is Propaganda?

Propaganda at its simplest is the distribution, using every means possible, of deliberately false or misleading information designed to further the self-serving interests of those running the misinformation campaign.

The propagandists seek to alter the way people view an issue or situation, thereby changing the mindset of the targeted group to conform with the should-be version.

Propaganda thus serves as an easier-to-sell alternative to censorship, in which the same purpose is achieved, not by filling people's minds with pre-approved information, but by preventing people from having access to opposing points of view. In this Internet age, it is much easier to baffle with BS and information overload than it is to ensure that there can be a total black out of the opposing points of view.

What sets propaganda apart is the willingness of the propagandists to challenge and change the target's perception through deception and confusion, rather than by persuasion and understanding.

The leaders know that the information is one-sided or untrue; however, to maximize successful dissemination and achieve the campaign's goals, the street-level rank and file, who have the day-to-day contact with the target group, function best if they are kept out of the information loop: like mushrooms, if kept in the dark and fed manure, they'll do well.


The Crime
On June 14th of this year a number of hats (names) were registered at the website known as Useless Knowledge Rebuttals Forum. These hats were registered, and then accessed (used to post messages) by someone. These hats are now commonly referred to as "The Stolen Hats from scrux.com", as the hats (names) that were used are commonly known to the internet community that follows the Natalee Holloway case, and appear to have been taken from the list of contributors to the The Open Letter to Oprah advertisement that was printed in the N.Y. Times.

That list includes, but is not limited to, the following hats (names):

The person(s) who registered those names also had the password to access and post from those accounts. There have been many accusations made as to whom that may be. To date, nothing has been proven conclusively, nor do we know the intent. However, the following is a list of IPs that did, in fact, access those accounts:

The Perpetrators
One website, useless-knowledge.com (U-K), which counts among its contributors two individuals who have written hundreds and hundreds of defamatory anti-Aruba and anti-Dutch articles which are posted on the U-K site and on various other Anti-Dutch, Anti-Aruba hate sites, recently offered up its contributors' posting records for review and analysis.

That material, which is detailed above, proves conclusively that a small cadre of Internet posters, sending messages from a small number of unique and readily identifiable Internet Provider Addresses (IPAs), used a plethora of log-in names from interchangeable locations to flood that website with falsehoods and misinformation.

The misinformation campaign run through U-K can be traced back to the two individuals who post in the sites rebuttal section as Meri and Patrick 4840. They are directly linked, cheek to cheek and hip to hip, through their postings on IPA 69.111.180.48.

The names used in the summary below are taken from, and used on, the U-K site.

Meri is linked to 11 posters through 64.12.116.67. Gunther, George, Jack and BobDCaterino are linked to Meri through this number. The Scrux hat, Fundaloo, is directly linked to Meri, Gunther, George, Jack and BobDCaterino.

George, who is linked to Meri and 10 other posters through 64.12.116.67 above, is linked to 11 other posters by way of postings through 152.163.101.6, and is linked to TallyHo, another of the Scrux hats. Meri, who is linked to George, is indirectly linked to this number; however, BobDCaterino is directly linked to this number and Meri is thus directly linked to him and to Jack who is also here. The Scrux hat, TallyGirl, is directly linked to Meri, Gunther, George, Jack and BobDCaterino.

George, who is linked to Meri and 10 other posters through 152.163.101.6, is linked to Meri and 11 other posters by way of postings through 205.188.117.14, and they are linked to the following Scrux hats through this number: TallyGirl, arbeej, pepermuntje, paprikash. The Scrux hats, TallyGirl, arbeej, pepermuntje and paprikash, are directly linked to Meri, Gunther, George, and Jack.

Gunther, who is linked to 12 other posters through 205.188.117.14, is linked to eight other posters by way of postings through 207.200.116.131, and is linked to the following Scrux hats through this number: a..incanada, medleyrelay, arbeej, paprikash, pepermuntje, Roger, and Also-Dutch. The Scrux hats, a..incanada, medleyrelay, arbeej, paprikash, pepermuntje, Roger, and Also-Dutch, are directly linked to Gunther and indirectly linked to Meri, George, and Jack.

Really Think, who has made 33 U-K posts over an extended period of time, is directly linked to Gunther who is directly linked to Meri who is directly linked to Patrick4840.

Meri is linked to all of the Scrux hats and is directly linked to Patrick4840 and, through Gunther, is directly linked to ReallyThink.


The Punishment
What we have done to analyze the postings to this one website should be done by them all: follow the boiler room-type posters and you'll follow the money, and likely solve the mystery of the without-a-trace vanishing in the process.

Until this happens, let the two individuals above know how you feel about their activities. Heap dung upon their heads, just as they have heaped dung, duplicity and defamation upon so many tens of thousands of American, Aruban and Dutch citizens.
